The holiday commemorates the Mexican army's unlikely defeat of French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862 (Wikipedia is my friend and source! )
My mother would LOVE me if I dressed like this on a daily...Going out for mexican food at Pink Taco...Margs and tacos are pretty much the only way to celebrate.
